About Our Staff
Greg Ott PT, ATC
Greg Ott, PT, ATC, Sports Specialist, brings 30 years of experience in orthopedics and sports medicine. He has managed sports medicine clinics in Charlotte, NC. He was the Director of Sports Medicine at University of Michigan and Head Athletic Trainer for West Virginia University. Greg's expertise comes from working in the training room, on the field, as well as in the clinic. Greg brings his extensive sports medicine background in all sports and recreational activities.

John Buck PT, ATC, CSCS
John Buck PT, ATC, CSCS brings over 17 years of experience in orthopedics and sports medicine. John was an athletic trainer first, and provided on-field care at all sports levels from middle school to Division I athletics at Penn State. He has worked in outpatient orthopedics since 1991, and joined Greg’s staff at the University of Michigan in 1994. His expertise is in lower extremity biomechanics. He has been designing and fabricating orthotic devices since college, and continues today with the newest technology, Langer’s new 3D laser scanning system, VeriScan Podiatric Scanner.
Crystal Sanchez, PT, DPT, Cert. DN, Cert. SMT
Crystal is a licensed Physical Therapist with a decade of experience in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy and sports rehabilitation. She has advanced clinical skills including dry needling and spinal manipulation, and has worked with a variety of patient populations across the range of age and activity levels. Crystal values helping patients return to their optimal level of performance after injury or surgery. In more active individuals, this often requires an advanced and personal approach to rehabilitation versus "standard" physical therapy.

Abby Gyscek PT, DPT
Abby graduated from Wingate University’s Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program in 2019. Abby has been a part of the Greg Ott Physical Therapy team since 2014, beginning as a rehab tech, continuing to work through physical therapy school and is excited to transition into her new role as a Physical Therapist. Abby grew up in the Charlotte area and found her passion for physical therapy after sustaining several injuries during her gymnastics career. Abby is eager to help patients reach their individual goals. Abby enjoys hanging out with friends and family, watching Auburn football and traveling. In her free time she likes to spend time outside in the sun, work out or read!

Claire Redmon PT, DPT, LSVT BIG
Claire graduated from Wingate University in 2017. With a lifelong background in circus and dance, Claire taught dance classes to children with special needs while in PT school. Per her love for dance, she has begun to work with members of the Charlotte Ballet. Following a skiing accident in 2020, Claire herself underwent a surgical ACL reconstruction. This allowed her to experience first-hand the challenges her patients go through during their own injuries and physical therapy. This experience pushed forward her interest in treating orthopedic and sports-related injuries.

Jess Potts, PT, DPT, SCS, Cert. DN, CSCS
Jess Potts PT, DPT, SCS graduated from High Point University's Doctor of Physical Therapy program in 2020. She grew up playing soccer and developed a passion for physical therapy after suffering several knee injuries while playing soccer collegiately at HPU. Following PT school, Jess completed a sports residency to become a Board Certified Sports Specialist. She has the opportunity to work with athletes of various sports from the youth to the professional level. Jess values high specificity with return to sport considerations for the athletes she works with. Jess enjoys hanging out with friends and family, traveling, and exploring the outdoors with her two dogs. Jess has enjoyed exploring Charlotte's food and beverage scene since moving to the city in October 2023.

Ali Granato, PT, DPT
Ali graduated from Elon University's Doctorate of Physical Therapy program in 2023. She has experience working with people of all ages and diagnoses, ranging from orthopedic to neuromuscular to vestibular conditions. She has a passion for helping people recover from sports injuries and improving their ability to become great athletes. Ali enjoys spending her free time with her mini labradoodle, Bronson. She enjoys staying active, including playing volleyball, lifting weights, and anything that involves the outdoors.

Shawn Minick PT, SCS
Shawn Minick PT, SCS brings over 8 years experience in out-patient orthopedics with special interest and specialization in sports physical therapy. Along with his clinical experience he has remained active in the community assisting with sports injury coverage and care for injured athletes in the Iredell and Mecklenburg counties for the past 8 years. He is an APTA and Sport Section member since 2007.

Reid Hilgen, PT, DPT
Reid graduated from Wingate University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program in 2022. Reid has been a part of the Greg Ott Physical Therapy team since 2016, beginning to work as a tech, continuing to work through physical therapy school, and now working as a Physical Therapist. Reid was born in California but has been in the Charlotte area since 2001. He found his passion for physical therapy after having several shoulder injuries throughout his baseball career. After suffering a few concussions during his sports career, Reid is a Certified Vestibular Concussion Specialist, an ImPACT Trained Physical Therapist, and trained in Sway Medical. Reid is enthusiastic about helping patients reach their individual goals and to help them achieve optimal physical function. Reid enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling and cooking. In his free time he enjoys hiking, being at the beach and watching any and all sports. He even follows professional surfing and participates in a fantasy surfing league. Yes, like fantasy football but surfing.

Nate Foss, PT, DPT
Nate graduated from Wingate University's Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in 2022. Prior to his physical therapy education, Nate worked as a rehab tech while also teaching music lessons at a local music studio. Nate grew up in Mooresville and found his passion for physical therapy while being active in various sports throughout high school and college. On a personal level, Nate comes from a family of musicians and healthcare providers. He believes music is good for the soul and physical therapy is vital to your injured body's recovery! Nate's other passions include music, martial arts, and spending time with family and friends. Nate is excited to join the team and is eager to help patients reach their personal goals.

Michelle Mello PT, DPT
Michelle Mello brings over 8 years of experience as a physical therapist. Michelle originally became interested in helping other's through rehabilitation after her own knee injury as a teenager when she worked with a physical therapist and was introduced to the environment. Now, she has experience in outpatient orthopedics and inpatient/acute rehabilitation. This has encouraged her treatment approach to involve treating the whole body, ,as injuries are most often multifaceted. She has always enjoyed exercise but found a love for reformer pilates shortly after moving to Charlotte 6 years ago. She started using pilates based on principles in her treatments and quickly learned how much this practice helped to heal her patients and improve her own abilities. She loves to introduce others to pilates to help them find length, strength, stability, awareness, and balanced movement. She believes adding this practice helps to prevent injury and recover from injury. Michelle enjoys spending her free time with her friends and family; especially her husband, daughter, and labradoodle. Her favorite pastime is working on new skills in the pilates studio, being outdoors, and traveling. She also enjoys trips to Florida to visit family and FSU friends. Go Noles!

Heather Osborne PT, DPT
Heather Osborne brings over 10 years of experience in outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine. Heather’s desire to treat orthopedic and sports-related injuries stemmed from her being a competitive athlete, primarily soccer, during adolescence to the collegiate level. She has a passion for helping all individuals achieve their functional goals and promote optimal physical function. She has experience in dance physical therapy and providing treatment for injured dancers in the community. Heather enjoys spending her free time with her friends and family. She enjoys working out, including keeping up with her two daughters. Being a Charlotte native, she will always pull for the Carolina Panthers, but also enjoys attending Charlotte FC games.

Matthew Page, PT, DPT
Matt graduated from Wingate University's Doctor of Physical Therapy program in 2019. He has experience working with a wide variety of patient populations in various outpatient settings. Matt enjoys treating orthopedic impairments as well as post-surgical patients. He also enjoys helping patient to improve balance and stability with everyday activities. Matt enjoys being active outside, playing pickleball, and spending time with his wife and 5 children.

Carissa graduated from Slippery Rock's Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in May 2022. While in school she worked as an Athletic Trainer for the university's football team. Carissa has been a part of the GOCPT team since August 2021, beginning as a physical therapy student. Carissa grew up in Virginia and found her passion for physical therapy after sustaining several injuries during her gymnastics and soccer careers. Carissa is eager to help patients reach their individual goals. She takes a special interest in foot and ankle injuries. Carissa enjoys hanging out with friends and family, playing with her cat, rollerblading, and traveling. In her free time, you can find her outside enjoying the sunshine or at the gym.

John Rintamaa, PT MBA
John brings over 25 years of experience in orthopedics and sports medicine. He has managed sports program in Ohio and here in Charlotte. He has provided on-field care and worked with athletes at all sports levels including players with the Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Browns, and Ohio State University. John's expertise includes post-surgical, sports, and athletic injury rehabilitation. He is a former state champion cross-country runner and a member of the Northeast Ohio Athletic Hall of Fame.
