Laser therapy was approved by the FDA in 2007. Laser therapy was used in clinical trials for research on effectiveness until professional sports teams invested in laser therapy. As proven results gained popularity, it was adopted by Olympic Division 1 and collegiate teams throughout the country.

The progression of laser therapy has gotten better over time. Initially, laser treatment was provided only in low-power or "cold" laser treatments. As technology progressed, Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 lasers were developed. Class 3 Lasers were considered state-of-the-art even in the last few years. Now we use Class 4 Lasers that are 30 times more effective than the previous Class 3 Lasers giving better results and more pain relief!

We have invested in Class 4 medical lasers. It is the newest technology available, and we are the only clinic in the county to offer this technology!

The amount of treatments depends on your specific needs and pain. Most patients see almost immediate results after the first treatment. Typically, a series of 5-10 treatments is ideal for injury and post-operative recovery. Additional sessions are beneficial for chronic conditions, multiple areas of treatment, or more severe cases of inflammation and scar tissue.

Laser therapy is a new technology and is not covered by insurance yet. We offer many self-pay package options.

Some conditions may limit your ability to be an appropriate candidate for laser therapy. We cannot use the laser on an area where you have a pacemaker or malignant tumor. We also cannot use the laser if you are pregnant. During treatment, you are required to wear protective eye glasses as the laser can cause blindness if you look directly into it for a prolonged period of time.
